Joshua Creek in north east Oakville is one of the town’s most affluent areas. Located south of Dundas Street, east of 8th Line, north of Upper Middle Road and west of 9th Line, it was developed in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. There are mainly detached homes with some small pockets along Dundas Street still being developed. Spacious lots, high ranking schools, proximity to Toronto and transit, combined with high resale values are what typically draw home buyers to this area. There’s a community centre attached to Iroquois Ridge public high school, Joshua Creek Arenas, and ample shopping and amenities at the plazas near Trafalgar and Dundas. Sheridan College is just down the road, as is the nicely redeveloped Oakville Place Mall.
As with most of Oakville, the size and scope of the homes tends to swing towards dual-income families. With detached homes going frequently for well over 1.5 million, this area definitely has the scent of success. Plenty of well-to-do families send their kids to private school here. Quick access to the GO and all major highways means the power players have easy access for their commute into Toronto.
Joshua Creek is known for its spectacular green space—a major bonus for families! There are parks, trails, and for those into sports, it’s an ideal locale for access to Oakville’s soccer fields or hockey rinks, or the nearby White Oaks Golf Course. The Iroquois Ridge Community Centre is not your average community pool, and offers a 25-metre, eight-lane pool and a separate leisure pool with a water slide. Joshua Creek is also home to lots of fantastic schools, both public and private.
